If time permits, visit scenic Angel Bay to enjoy the harbour sunset and the tranquil meeting of sea and sky. Leave Auckland early and set out to explore the wonders of the central North Island. First visit the famous natural wonder, the ★ Waitomo Glowworm Caves. First discovered by a Māori chief in 1887, this mysterious cave features stalactites and an underground river. Led by a guide, glide by boat into the dark, quiet depths, seemingly entering a galaxy: thousands of blue glowworms illuminate the ceiling like stars in the night sky. Arrive in Rotorua, the “geothermal capital,” in the afternoon. Stroll by the lake and through the flower-filled Government Gardens, taking in the scent of sulphur in the air. Visit ★ Whakarewarewa Māori Village in the Whakarewarewa Valley, one of New Zealand’s most representative attractions. More than 20 families still live here, descendants of the 4th and fifth generations of Māori. Experience Māori culture and customs while seeing dramatic geothermal features. 🌙 Evening suggestion: at your own expense, visit the Polynesian geothermal hot pools, counted among the world’s thermal spas, and soak in mineral-rich natural hot springs under the stars. Hotel: Copthorne Hotel Rotorua or similar hotel Breakfast: Hotel buffet; Lunch: Western buffet; Dinner: Specialty venison meal—tender game, nourishing and warming
After breakfast, enjoy a day where culture meets fantasy. Visit ★ Hobbiton Movie Set, a beloved destination for film fans. Cross emerald-green pastures and step into the fairytale world of Middle-earth. See iconic film locations including Bag End, hobbit holes, the Green Dragon Inn, the Party Tree and the mill, as if you had become a hobbit and bumped into Gandalf. Your expert guide will reveal fascinating behind-the-scenes filming details and revisit classic scenes. In the afternoon, return to Auckland and board a ★ million-dollar luxury yacht awarded a star rating for a bespoke feast at sea. The yacht is 20 m long, with spacious, comfortable levels, a viewing deck, boutique suites and premium facilities. It is berthed at Viaduct Harbour, a central Auckland landmark and an excellent place to watch the harbour sunset. As the sea breeze wafts by and golden light fills the deck, admire Auckland’s skyline and enjoy a burger set on board for an unforgettable North Island evening. 🕒 If weather or other circumstances beyond our control prevent the cruise, we will provide a luxury yacht experience ticket for use on a future trip or arrange a refund. Thank you for your understanding. Afterwards, check in to the hotel and prepare for your return journey.
